Who we are

Zoey Snaps is built on 6 years of professional portrait photography experience, now focused entirely on pets. Over 100 sessions in, with 40+ five-star reviews to match.

I'm Thomas, the photographer behind the lens. Before specializing in pets, I spent years photographing families, couples, headshots, and events across Toronto, learning what actually makes a photo feel alive instead of posed. The sessions I loved most were always the ones with the least direction, where real personality showed up on its own rather than being coached into place. That's exactly what pet photography rewards, and it's what led me to focus on it full-time.

Zoey, our goldendoodle, is the studio's namesake and unofficial mascot, she's the test model behind every new backdrop and lighting setup before a single client ever sees it. She's not part of the session itself, so she doesn't pull focus from your pet, but she's always happy to say hello before or after.

A man with dark hair and a beard, wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans, is smiling while posing with a golden doodle dog wearing a colorful bandana. A vintage camera is on the floor to the right of the dog, all set against a light blue background.

Our Approach

Here's what most people don't expect: the best pet photos rarely come from a perfectly trained, perfectly still pet. They come from movement and personality, a dog chasing a treat across the frame, a cat mid-stretch. Every session is built around working with your pet's real behaviour instead of fighting it, whether that means an easy, playful hour or a more patient one. Either way, we get there.

In the Community

Zoey Snaps has photographed adoptable rescue cats from Toronto Cat Rescue during a shoot at Balmy Beach Pet Hospital, shown up as a vendor at Doggie Fest Toronto and the Canadian Pet Expo, and worked with Toronto veterinary clinics on ongoing photography and social media.
